To provide operational support to ensure a seamless flow of the day to day work activities under supervision and within the policies and procedures established by the Royal Canadian Mint, while providing informative, friendly and entertaining tours to visitors and promoting the Royal Canadian Mint through the selling of its products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be returning to full-time post-secondary studies in September 2023
- Bilingualism is required (English/French)
Requirements
Previous Experience:
- Minimum 2 years experience as a tour guide and/or in a retail environment
- Experience in customer service and sales is an asset
- Experience with public speaking is preferred
Abilities:
- Ability to book and organize tours and determine priorities
- To apply sales techniques
- To analyze visitors inquiries and complaints and find solutions
- To assist visitors with mobility issues
- To communicate with supervisors and colleagues in a professional manner
- To deal with visitors in an efficient manner
- To work under pressure and carry on repetitive tasks
- To write clearly and concisely in both official languages
- To effectively and efficiently use a computerized system
- To work within a team environment
- Demonstrated initiative and judgment
Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Experience in a retail environment
- Above average public speaking skills
- Good organizational skills
- Good computer skills
- Knowledge of the Royal Canadian Mint, its products, its markets
- Knowledge of guided tour techniques and of computers
- Knowledge in the operation of cash registers and cash handling
- Knowledge of inventory replenishing and control
- Knowledge of introduction techniques while greeting visitors
This opening is to be filled on a continuous operation and/or shift work.
Salary: $20.02 (2021 rate) plus 6% vacation pay.
