The magnificent gold coins of the Gold Series: Higher Collection, with special reverse designscreated by John Bergdahl and celebrating the 30th Olympiad, are now available as individual coinsand a three-coin set. They feature the Olympic Rings and the legendary gods – Jupiter, Apollo andJuno, representing the sports of Diving, Pole Vaulting and Gymnastics.
The Jupiter coin has a denomination of £100 and contains one full ounce of fine gold, while theJuno and Apollo £25 coins each contain quarter of an ounce of fine gold. These 22 carat gold coinscome in specially designed walnut display cases with a numbered Certificate of Authenticityguaranteeing their Maximum Coin Mintages.

Jupiter
Supreme God of the sky, lightning and thunder, Jupiter wasKing of the Gods and patron god of Rome. Wearing abreastplate adorned with a storm cloud, Jupiter hurledthunderbolts from the sky. This coin represents the powerfulconnection between the great God of the sky, and the sport ofDiving. Those competing exhibit vigour, energy and control, asthey take flight through the air, much like Jupiter himself andthe lightning bolts cast from his hand.
Juno
The wife of Jupiter and Queen of the Gods, Juno was bothprotector and special counsellor of the state. Her animalsymbol was the Peacock and she was regarded as guardian spiritof females. The coin’s commanding design mirrors Juno’scourage and resilience with that of Olympic athletes competingin the Pole Vault, as they strive higher and higher, reaching forthe sky. Athletes rely on an inner fortitude and resolve, qualitiesof Juno herself.
Apollo
Apollo is regarded as the most diverse of the deities in Romanmythology. As the epitome of the kouros, or the beardless,athletic youth, he is recognised as the God of light and the sun,of healing and truth, music and poetry. This coin design unitesthe qualities of Apollo and Rhythmic Gymnastics. Just as Apollowas famous for driving his chariots of fire across the sky to givelight to the world, the lyrical movements of the gymnast bringawe and wonder to those who watch.
