About
A popular coin series, hurry and order yours today!
The raven is central to several First Nation traditions, and this coin celebrates its role in teaching the story of the northern lights. It's the third achromatic hologram coin the Mint has ever issued, and the first to go beyond a circular design! The hologram was produced using a patented nanotechnology-based method of producing three-dimensional non-coloured holographic elements. This advanced technology is also used on banknotes requiring exceptional securityand detailed images. The hologram is not affixed to the coin, but struck microscopically into the coin's surface—stunning!
Your coin's stylized design is inspired by First Nations storytelling traditions of the Pacific Northwest! Order yours today!

About the Design:
Designed by Canadian artist Nathalie Bertin features a stylized raven in flight above an engraved coniferous mountainside, set against a sky lit by the northern lights. The raven and sky are entirely holographic. The raven flies, wings fully outstretched,in the centre of this image. The lower part of theimage, engraved in silver, features rocky mountainous terrain cradling a coniferous forest. The “sky” above the mountains and surrounding the raven is a stunning hologram reminiscent ofthe ever-changing, swirling rainbow of the aurora borealis.

- The three-dimensional raven you see when you look at this coin doesn't exist in physical space!
- Fascinatingly, when you look at a hologram, you are not seeing a physical image (like a photograph), but a “virtual” image that is actually produced on your retina. In fact, thephysical image on the hologram's surface is a seemingly random series of dots
