All five coins feature unique images by artist Steve Hepburn. A maple (Acer) bough provides a circular frame for a jumble of branches that have grown around each other. These intricately interwoven elements represent a thriving maple tree through the seasons, from the new buds of spring to the fallen leaves in autumn. Each coin includesthe year "2019", the word "CANADA" and the coin's face value, which are all engraved along the rim. Each obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth IIby Susanna Blunt.
