The south rose window, completed in the 13th century, is one of its most stunning features — a massive circular stained-glass window that depicts scenes from the New Testament and floods the interior with vibrant colored light.

- As a world first, an innovative approach has been taken to produce this coin: the outer walls and surrounding architectural elements of the stained-glass window will be shown in relief on the reverse, while the obverse will feature a relief depiction of the interior view—both sides will change from coin to coin.
- The inserted acrylic glass disc will be printed on both sides, creating a transparent, lifelike effect, much like viewing through an actual stained-glass window.
