The 2026 silver proof Sovereign marks the continuation of The Royal Mint’s exciting new chapter for this world-famous coin series. Following the debut of the first-ever silver Sovereign in 2025, this is only the second official silver Sovereign to be struck. Each of these 2026 coins is crafted from 999 fine silver and finished to the Mint’s exacting proof standard. The obverse of 2026 silver Sovereigns bears Martin Jennings’ definitive portrait of King Charles III, while the reverse revives Benedetto Pistrucci’s timeless Saint George and the dragon design: a motif synonymous with the Sovereign since 1817.
The 2026 Silver Proof Sovereign is issued in a strictly limited edition presentation of 20,000 coins, less than half the quantity released for the inaugural 2025 silver Sovereign.
