The Mint presents this unique men's watch featuring stunning Coat of Arms of Canada detail*. The watch face ismade of sterling silver with a gold-plated Coat of Arms, and the bracelet is made of two-tone gold-plated metal. A titanium Coat of Arms watch is also available.
The 50-cent coin honours Canada's founding nations: England, Scotland, Ireland and France. The current Coat of Arms was designed in 1997 incorporating the motto—“Desiderantes Meliorem Patriam" (They desire a better country). The 50-cent coin was the first coin ever struck in Canada, on January 2, 1908, marking the official opening of the Ottawa branch of the Royal Mint.
