The Royal Canadian Mint is hiring a Senior Auditor, Internal Audit who can thrive in a dynamic and inclusive environment.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Internal Audit, you’ll lead a wide variety of audit initiatives across operational, financial, compliance, and information technology domains. This is an impactful role where you will collaborate with various business areas to identify issues and root causes, influence action, and strengthen governance, processes, and controls. You will collaborate closely with the Chief Internal Auditor and external consultants, gaining valuable exposure to high-level strategic audit initiatives within a commercial Crown corporation—an opportunity that is truly unique in Canada.
Responsabilités :
- Plan and conduct financial, compliance, operational or information technology audits in accordance with the Global Internal Audit Standards (GIAS) .
- Create key audit deliverables including risk assessments, audit programs, and audit plans.
- Ensure that audits and other engagements are diligently performed and accurately interpret the results against defined criteria.
- Perform self‑reviews of working papers for compliance with Internal Audit policies and GIAS.
- Draft clear, actionable audit reports and coordinate management responses to recommendations.
- Help prepare the annual Risk‑Based Audit Plan and maintain internal audit procedures/practices.
- Build proactive, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, anticipating client needs.
This position requires you to work from the Ottawa location a minimum of three days per week, up to five days depending on meeting requirements and other activities.
Qualifications :
Languages Requirements:
Proficiency in both official languages (English / French) is required at the time of hire. If no qualified candidate fully meets the required levels, other candidate language profiles may be considered in accordance with the Mint’s Staffing Policy. The linguistic profile for this position is:
Written Comprehension: Advanced (Level C)
Written Expression: Intermediate (Level B)
Oral Proficiency: Advanced (Level C)
Education & Designation:
- University degree in a relevant field from an accredited post-secondary institution.
- Hold or be in the process of obtaining a relevant professional designation such as CPA, CIA and/or CISA would be a strong asset.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in leading and conducting financial, operational, compliance and/or information technology audits.
- Experience working at a manufacturing organization is an asset.
Additional Qualifications:
- Knowledge of internal audit standards, practices and procedures.
- Proven project management skills to execute projects and lead engagements to a successful conclusion.
- Proven ability to multi-task, problem-solve and prioritize without compromising details, accuracy or work deadlines.
- Knowledge of audit standards, practices, and procedures.
- Strong analytical skills to identify issues, potential risks and root causes in order to propose effective improvements.
- Ability to build strong, collaborative working relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders.
- Excellent business acumen and strategic thinking skills.
