The Royal Canadian Mint (the Mint) is hiring a Senior Advisor, Talent Management Programs who can thrive in a dynamic and inclusive environment.

Reporting to the Director, Talent Management, the Senior Advisor is responsible for working across the Mint to design and develop key initiatives critical to support the delivery of the One Mint strategic plan, as well as work with HR business partners and clients to identify business needs and design appropriate talent management related programs and solutions. The primary focus of this role will involve integrating organizational needs and solutions for employee engagement, leadership development, performance enhancement, talent and succession planning, as well as other related initiatives. The Senior Advisor will apply a balanced approach between ‘systems thinking’ and human centric view to their work, and use diagnostic models, data gathering and research, to design and develop top talent programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, planning, development and implementation of talent management programs.
  • Monitor, evaluate and report on the performance of talent management programs.
  • Manage, coach and direct the work of the Talent Management Analyst focused on recognition, DEI, and the day-to-day administration of various talent development projects.
  • Deliver presentations, briefings, and other communication materials to broad audiences both at the people leader and employee level.
  • Lead projects and initiatives applying best practices in project management and change management.
  • Conduct research, consultation and analysis on talent management best practices to inform program development.

Requirements

  • University degree in human resources or related area
  • Minimum of 7 years of related experience
  • Hands-on experience in defining and implementing talent management initiatives that improve business performance, foster retention and develop people
  • Tried and tested analytical, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • Strong communication skills (both written and oral) including experience with facilitation and presenting to audiences at all organizational levels
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects of varying scope from conception to implementation
  • Solid experience providing recommendations to senior management
  • Working in a unionized environment
  • Bilingualism is a strong asset
