100ᵗʰ Anniversary of the Arms of Canada
Your coin's reverse features the current design of the Canada Coat of Arms drawn by Cathy Bursey-Sabourin, Fraser Herald at the Canadian Heraldic Authority. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
25ᵗʰ Anniversary of Canada's Arboreal Emblem
Designed by Canadian artist Claudio D'Angelo, your coin's reverse is double dated ("1996 2021") to mark the 25ᵗʰ anniversary of the maple's (genus Acer) designation as Canada's national arboreal emblem. It features three sugar maple (Acer saccharum) leaves beneath the text "CANADA". The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
The Snowbirds
Your coin’s reverse was designed by Canadian graphic artist Dave O’Malley and features the unique “speed bird” design that has graced the bottom of the Snowbird Tutors since a new paint scheme was introduced in 1974. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt with “ELIZABETH II”, “D·G·REGINA” and “5 DOLLARS” engraved along the outer edge. Historical text and production liaison were provided by former Snowbird commanding officer and team leader Dan Dempsey.
100ᵗʰ Anniversary of Canada’s National Colours
Designed by Canadian artist Steve Hepburn, your coin’s reverse is double dated (“1921 2021”) to mark the 100ᵗʰ anniversary of Canada’s national colours. Its selectively coloured image is an extraordinary display of patriotism: a Canadian proudly holds up the red-and-white flag of Canada as they shout their love of country from the highest mountain. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
